I can see though why some people would be upset. Having a vehicle named after the area was surely a proud moment, and it was totally appropriate (if not necessary) to have a "Newfoundland" salesman in the ad. I think the problem is taking a proud moment and ruining it my lampooning the accent (thereby making fun of the people). If the actor's hometown is the problem, then that's crazy.
